Recycled Hubcap Flower Garden

It is with great sadness that Little Drummers bids farewell to our hero,
Nelson "Gramps" Harris.
He was an amazingly kind man, full of love and understanding, and always there to help anyone in need.  Gramps was always looking out for people, he was always there for his family, friends and community.  We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives and we hope to honour him throughout our lives with acts of kindness, love and humanity.
Thank you, Gramps, you taught us so much!
We love you!

BELIEVE
THERE  IS

GOOD
IN THE WORLD

   Little Drummers Drink Pouch Brigade!
In December, 2014, Little Drummers joined up with TerraCycle
in their recycling efforts. Our "Drink Pouch Brigade", collected used drink pouches and shipped them to TerraCycle to be recycled.
Since we began we have collected
TEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE drink pouches!
Sadly, the funding for this recycling project was recently eliminated.  We are hoping to find a way to continue recycling our drink pouches.

4th Annual Nelson R. Harris Chemo Care Package Drive

We have completed this year's Chemo Care Package Drive! We assembled and delivered twenty five chemo care packages for first-time chemotherapy patients
at Berkshire Hematology Oncology.  This brings our total Chemo Care Package tally up to ONE HUNDRED TEN!

    OPERATION GRATITUDE
This year, Little Drummers sent out letters of thanks to the 49 veterans living in Savoy, MA.  Students in grades Pre-K through 5th wrote letters, and decorated cards to send out to our veterans.  We even received several letters back from our veterans, telling us about their service.  Many said that it was the only acknowledgement they got on Veterans' Day.
Our love and gratitude go out to all who served!

     GOBBLE - GOBBLE

This past November, Little Drummers raised $189.54
for our Turkey Dinner Drive for the Springfield Rescue
Mission.  This gave about ninety five people a warm place
to celebrate the holiday and enjoy a hot Thanksgiving
dinner with dessert.  Since 2011, we have raised $642.99
for the Turkey Dinner Drives, sponsoring Thanksgiving
dinners for THREE HUNDRED TWENTY FOUR people!

 REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE . . . REDECORATE!
That's how we'll be celebrating Earth Day 2017!
Little Drummers will be collecting old, discarded
hubcaps, painting them to look like flowers, and
"planting" them along the fence line!  If you
would like to donate hubcaps, please email us at
: thelittledrummers@gmail.com Thank you!

Little Drummers mailed out almost 100 "Love Letters for the Library!"  Children coloured in Valentine's cards expressing what they LOVE most about their library.  They also decorated book covers with the titles of their favourite books!
